A Year of Trees

May 5-30

Sierra Arts Foundation

From tiny saplings to towering monuments, trees tell a story of their place in the world. In “A Year of Trees” I explore the architecture of these stories, focusing on the structural energy of the forest and stripping trees down to their most essential, rhythmic form. I use bold graphic lines to define the tension between branch and sky, amplifying the texture found in bark, silhouettes, and the interlocking patterns of a canopy.  Each painting is an exercise in movement and repetition, inviting the viewer to see the landscape not just as scenery, but as a vibrant, pulsing system of line and space.
